Dr. Richard Ward
Capital Vascular Surgeons and Vein Center is led by Dr. Richard Ward. In practice for more than 30 years, Dr. Ward has expertise in traditional open vascular surgery and minimally invasive endovascular therapies.
Dr. Ward was born and raised in San Francisco. He finished undergraduate studies at Stanford University and graduated from Tulane University Medical School in 1971. He completed General and Vascular surgical training at the University of Arizona. He has been on the faculty at the University of Texas, Houston and at the University of California, Davis.
Presently he is the Director of Renal and Pancreas transplantation at Sutter Memorial Hospital as well as Medical Director of Golden State Donor Services. His special interests are in General Vascular Surgery, Organ Transplantation and Anterior Spine Exposure.
Dr. Ward has privileges at Mercy General Hospital, Sutter General Hospital and Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento, California.
